Tired of digging for change to feed the meter? Well, now there’s an app for that. The Department of Transportation announced the rollout of ParkNYC, new phone-payment system for all parking meters in Manhattan between 14th and 59th streets. The city has teamed up with Parkmobile to create “Park NYC.” The new app allows New Yorkers to pay for parking straight from their phones. It also allows driver to sign up for alerts when the meter is set to expire. According to DOT commissioner Polly Trottenberg, there are plans to expand it to meters in all five boroughs over the next six months.
