How to Get the New York City Municipal IDIf you’re walking around as John or Jane Doe, or using your passport as Identification; there’s no need too. New York City is launching its much-anticipated municipal identification card, the largest program of its kind in the country. The cards will be available at 17 enrollment centers around the five boroughs and will be accepted as valid primary identification across the city, Mayor Bill de Blasio said. The mayor has touted many benefits of the card, such as free membership to cultural hot spots in all five boroughs. All New Yorkers who are 14 and older are eligible. The card will be free through the end of 2015.
