The Red Lobster on 125th St. has made some residents boil over with the mandatory 18% tip — no matter the service. The popular seafood chain opened Monday next to the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem. Red Lobster officials said they are only doing what they do everywhere: Provide high-quality food at a reasonable price to give the public full a wide variety of dining options.
Red Lobster spokesperson added that guests “always have the option of adding to, reducing or completely deducting the automatic gratuity before paying their check.” Red Lobster, for instance, adds the mandatory gratuity at its Times Square location. And prices at the Harlem outlet are the same as those at Elmhurst, Queens, and in the East New York section of Brooklyn: LINK
