New Music Video Urges MTA Straphangers To “Stand Back” From The Subway Tracks!

MTA Stand BackA new public service music video from the Transport Workers’ Union is aimed at getting straphangers to ‘recognize’ subway safety. So you don’t throw your life away.” The catchy song is “Stand Back”, performed by MTA motorman Noah Rodriguez. It’s a take on the popular Fat Joe song “Lean Back.” The union says too many people end up on the tracks because they get too close to the platform edge or because they jump down to retrieve dropped cell phones. The MTA says trains hit or collided with riders 657 times between 2008 and 2012.
