Temporary Food Assistance Program Put In Place For Sandy Victims

No one should go hungry in America.  FNS provides children and low-income people access to food, a healthful diet, and nutrition education. The city created a temporary food assistance program aimed at helping Sandy victims. It’s called the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or D-SNAP. It’s a one-time benefit for people living in the hardest-hit zip codes, who aren’t already receiving food assistance. Applications will be accepted from Dec. 12 to Dec. 18.
